Irene McDermott, former Rothienorman Hall Secretary, is bringing back a local well known Saturday night ritual to the hall in Rothie, “The Dance”, advertised as “Rothie Reunion Dance”.
For a long time now dances in the hall have slowly dwindled away to just a few a year from the hay days when every Saturday the hall would be jam packed with revelers. Irene herself used to be a regular reveler at a dance and knows first had what a good time was had by all, she even remembers when there was a miniskirt competition! Irene’s aim is to bring back that Saturday night buzz on the 14th November where everyone can relive their youth, experience what a Rothie Dance was like, or see how Mum and Dad used to party…..
Entertainment for the night will be by The Bash Street Kids who used to be a regular booking and to top things off in true old school Rothie Dance style no night was ever complete without a visit to the burger van parked outside!
For more information click here and we hope to see you on the night with all proceed going to help renovate the hall to keep the facility going for years to come.
